PureBamboo® is a Hong Kong brand of natural bamboo tissue. Since 2017, they are committed to environmental protection, and now advocate the use of healthier and environmentally friendly bamboo as the raw material to replace traditional tree paper manufacture so that Hong Kong people can use more environmentally friendly tissue paper.
【Why Bamboo Tissue?】
Manufacturing traditional wood pulp paper towels requires cutting down a large number of trees. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, a tree can produce about 100 pounds of toilet paper, while humans consume 27,000 trees every day to make paper towels. The global forest area is declining at a rate of 7.3 million hectares annually, and an average tree is felled every 4 seconds. Excessive logging has made many animals homeless and even on the verge of extinction. It has also caused a large increase in carbon dioxide, which has a serious impact on global warming.

In contrast, bamboo is a grass plant that grows rapidly and becomes a material within 3 to 4 years. It grows up to 10 times faster than trees. After cutting, the roots can be retained for regeneration. Bamboo also produces 30 times more oxygen than trees and 35 times more carbon dioxide.
