Campaign proceeds are utilized to cover community collection point setup, transportation, processing, and storage costs in the recycling process, enabling sustained operation of free basketball recycling services for all citizens. This initiative encourages broad public participation in recycling, ensuring more discarded basketballs are properly collected and recycled.

Upcycled basketball products combine environmental principles with creative design, enhancing product diversity to give new life to more discarded basketballs. Campaign proceeds support material testing, production technology optimization, and quality control to ensure products embody both ecological value and practical functionality.

Campaign proceeds are allocated to online publicity, community education activities, and partnership building to effectively promote the "Zero Waste Basketball Campaign". These efforts raise public environmental awareness and basketball recycling rates while advancing the widespread adoption of circular economy concepts.

Worn-out balls cannot be upcycled into new products, nor can recycling costs be offset by selling products or using them as raw materials for events.

These old balls are sent to the "Green Island Cement" plant as alternative fuel, allowing waste balls to contribute their final energy value in cement production and avoiding direct disposal at landfills.

Programme income is used to cover necessary expenses such as storage and transportation, ensuring that these non-recyclable balls are still properly handled and achieving 100% recycling.

Programme income is also used to support the "School Ball Recycling Service" (click here for details), subsidising logistics, transportation, storage and handling costs so that schools can recycle the specified quantity of sports balls free of charge, encouraging active participation in recycling.

In the longer term, we hope to expand the beneficiary collection areas, so that waste sports balls from more schools can be properly collected and recycled.
