Description

The Household Food Waste Bucket is used to ferment food waste to compost. By combining effective bacteria with food waste, organic materials in a favorable environment and regular digging, massive amount of bacteria which facilitates decomposition and fermentation will be produced. The food waste will then become compost to cultivate soil.

Instructions:
  1. Open the lid of the bucket, layout high fibre food wastes at the bottom.

  2. Finely dice/chop food wastes and drain out excess water/oil.

  3. Layer food wastes evenly at the bottom of the bucket.

  4. Sprinkle Bokashi bacteria(active organisms) on the top of food wastes. It is suitable for fruit peels or high water content food wastes as the bacteria absorbs moisture and prevents them from rotting.

  5. Spread food wastes and bacteria layer by layer until it gets full.

  6. If food wastes of your choice are high water content kitchen wastes, they turn into liquid compost in 3 to 4 days under the temperature of 25 to 35 degree Celcius, which could be used in the soil after dilution.

  7. It takes around one month for food waste to turn into usable compost under the temperature of 25 to 35 degree Celcius. When you see white substances on the surface, it is ready to be mixed in the soil to fertilize plants.

Kitchen wastes that you can put: 
Leftovers, fruits, peels, vegetables odds, coffee grounds, used tea bags, fish or meat (raw and cooked)
