Description

Homemade eco enzymes have popularized their use in different places. Usually, during the first month of making eco enzymes, a daily step of venting pressure is required so as to prevent the bottle from exploding due to the gas produced from fermentation. However, this Eco Enzyme Glass Bottle can save you time and effort on this as the gas can be automatically exhausted.

Eco Enzyme Glass Bottle comes with:
  • A 5-litre glass bottle (lead-free)
    • Dimensions: 30 (Height) x 20 (Diameter) x 12.5cm (Rim)
  • Drainage tap 
  • Automatic gas venting lid (minimize the risk of exploding due to pressure build-up)

What is Eco-Enzyme? 
Eco enzyme is a complex brown solution produced by the fermentation of fresh kitchen wastes (citrus peels and vegetable odds and ends), sugar and water. The generated ozone in enzyme helps to kill bacteria, increase the oxygen level in the atmosphere, reduce air pollution and purify chemical pollutants. Eco enzyme is a multipurpose liquid. Its numerous applications include usages in not only homes and agriculture but also water bodies purification.

How to make eco enzyme?
The ratio of kitchen waste, sugar and water are 3:1:10, i.e. 300g waste(vegetable odds and fruit peels) + 100g sugar(dark brown sugar, brown sugar or molasses) + 1000g water. Steps are shown below:
  1. Fill a container with water to 60% full. Put the sugar into the water and stir gently to dissolve it.

  2. Put the kitchen waste into the sugar mixture and make sure they are completely soaked. 

  3. Screw the cap tightly and label the date on the bottle. Allow some space in the container to prevent enzymes from spilling during fermentation. Place the bottle in a cool and ventilated place. 

  4. Gas will be generated in the first month of fermentation. Unscrew the cap and screw it back immediately to release pressure once a day. (Omit this step if you use an automatic exhaust container)

  5. There should not be any more expanding gas after one month of fermentation. Soak the floating waste back into the mixture occasionally. Sit the mixture still for three months and it is ready to use. Replace the original lid with an air-tight lid.

How to Judge if the Eco Enzyme is in Good Condition?
  • If the enzyme liquid turns black, meaning the fermentation fails to take place. Add more sugar to ferment for another three months.
  • If there are worms or fly eggs, seal the lid tightly to minimize the chance of them having contact with air and let decompose naturally. This helps to increase proteins in enzymes. 
  • Fermentation is completed when the surface appears white. The white substance on the surface can be applied directly to the skin for skincare purposes.
